The Lakewood Ranch High girls 3,200-and-6,400-meter relay teams both finished fourth at the Florida Relays April 1-2 in Gainesville.

Clad in brightly colored T-shirts and red and yellow flags, dozens of Braden River High girls made their way onto the football field for the school's annual Pirate Puff Classic April 4. The seniors defeated the freshmen 14-7 to open the classic. In the second game, the sophomores stunned the juniors 35-0. But in the championship game, it was the seniors who came away with the win to capture their second-consecutive Pirate Puff Classic Championship. The seniors were awarded plaques and a trophy for their effort.
