Amateur rowers were able to dip their oars in the water during the Sarasota Dragon Boat Festival May 7 at Nathan Benderson Park. Teams from throughout the area climbed into huge boats painted and adorned with a Chinese dragon head, tail, drum and scales to compete for top honors.
