Sarasota deputies seek information on bank robbery suspect

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking help identifying a man involved in a robbery case.

At 2:15 p.m. this afternoon, a man entered Suntrust Bank at 5727 Gantt Road, brandished a knife and demanded money from the teller.

The man is described as a white male, about five-foot-ten-inches with sandy, cropped hair and a tattoo with "block lettering" on his stomach. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown long sleeve t-shirt, camouflage baseball cap, a black bandana over his face and black gloves. He was also carrying a nylon bag.

If anyone has information, they are encouraged by the sheriff's office to call Criminal Investigations at 861-4900, or leave a tip with Crime Stoppers at 666-8477, or by texting CRIMES (274637).
