The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Feb. 18
 Bicycle battery

5:49 p.m. — 5700 block of 48th Street Circle E. Burglary. A woman returned home to find a juvenile breaking into her van. When the juvenile saw the woman, he fled the area on foot, leaving his bicycle behind. The juvenile returned 15 minutes later to recover his bicycle. The woman’s husband prevented the juvenile from taking his bicycle. The juvenile struck the husband multiple times before fleeing. Deputies caught the juvenile and arrested him.

Feb. 23 
 Dog bite

8:58 a.m. — 11500 Rexrode Road. Animal Bites. A man said he was walking with his wife when a dog jumped up and bit his wife on her lip. The dog bite caused lacerations that needed stitches. The man said the dog’s owner was extremely upset about the incident.

10:37 a.m. — 8200 block of 46th Court E. Neighborhood Disturbance. While a woman was out of town, a 10-year-old oak tree in her front yard was trimmed. She returned home to find branches and limbs stacked in her front yard. She contacted her neighbor to ask who had trimmed the tree. The neighbor replied that she had trimmed the tree because it was “messing up” her driveway. The neighbor had previously warned the woman to trim the tree because leaves continuously fell onto her property. In the past, the neighbor had offered to cut the tree for the woman, but the woman declined.

Grounds for a break-up
11:11 a.m. — 4900 block of Lorraine Road. Property Found. A woman found a small bag of cocaine in her boyfriend’s room and reported it to police.

Feb. 24 
 Out of the box

11:32 a.m. — 4700 block of Carrington Circle. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered a residence by prying open a rear sliding glass door. The person(s) took several pieces of jewelry from a black box, which deputies fingerprinted. The homeowners, who were on a walk when the incident occurred, said they saw a light-colored midsize SUV parked down the road before they left the house.

Wedding crasher
1:18 p.m. — 6200 29th Street E. Theft. A man last saw his wedding band on the hazard switch in his vehicle. He had given his car keys to somebody to wash and detail his vehicle. The man’s co-worker reported that he also had his wedding band stolen while his vehicle was being washed and detailed.

coming unhinged
1:44 p.m. — 6900 block of Quiet Creek Drive. Burglary. Unknown person(s) lifted the rear sliding glass door to an unoccupied residence by prying it off the track. The person(s) stole items from the home, which belongs to a home-building company.
