The Sarasota Farmer's Market hosted the second annual Shrimp and Lobster Festival Saturday, June 30. Last year's event drew record crowds to the market, and this year, seafood fans flocked to the market in droves to enjoy live music, children's events and of course, fresh shrimp and lobster. Food vendors even offered shrimp and lobster crepes.

Plenty of passersby climbed aboard to captain their favorite boat. MarineMax Sarasota is located at 1601 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota. It is open 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Dancers of all shapes, sizes, ages and hair colors took over Lido Key Beach June 30 for the third annual summer flash mob. Surprised beach bums gathered to watch Moving Ethos Dance Company's inspiring performance as the sun set. Although the performance persisted no more than ten minutes, the impact seemed to have lasting impression: 'Do you have any flyers? I want to join!' seemed to be more than a few audience members' reactions.

The group planned to perform on Lido Beach on Saturday and back on Siesta Key Beach on Sunday at 7 pm. The group performed to an orchestral version of Kings of Leon's 'Use Somebody' and 'Clair de Lune'.
