It's Sunday, July 15, and the surf's up on Anna Maria Island. Unlike the previous weekend, when the Gulf of Mexico refused to give the campers at Eternal Summer Surf Camp anything more than flat water, the waves are barreling in.

As a part of its summer celebrity bartending series, Shamrock Pub hosted a fundraiser Friday, July 13, to benefit Beyond the Spectrum, a charity that benefits children on the autism spectrum. Guest bartenders from the charity teamed up with members of Brown Distributing to raise money for the cause. All money from tips and raffle prizes was donated to Beyond the Spectrum.

The twice re-scheduled Longboat Key Invitational Golf Tournament was a successful event hosted by The Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce. Fifty-or-so players took their odds on Friday the 13, and David Kovalsky with Sotheby's even got lucky enough to 'beat the pro' on a hole. There were various putting competitions throughout the tournament. West Florida Golf Tour and Nickel Putter teamed up with The LLSA Chamber for the event held at Longboat Key Club and Resort.
