Sheriff's Office welcomes community to open house

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office opened its doors to the community on Dec. 7 for its second annual open house. Visitors had the chance to try on Kevlar vests and helmets, participate in an obstacle course, meet with Santa, and check out the different Sheriff's Office transportation vehicles.

The free event also provided food cooked by deputies.
