Downtown parkers beware: Changes made to the city’s parking policy are now in effect.

Paid and timed parking is now being enforced from 8 a.m. to midnight for marked on‑street parking spaces and 24 hours a day in city-owned parking garages, Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, enforcement for both on‑street and garage parking will begin at 1 p.m.

All parking citation fines have increased by $5.

These adjustments were implemented  by the City Commission in an effort to fully fund the Parking Division and support necessary improvements to parking infrastructure throughout the city, such as elevator replacement and other maintenance matters.

The changes do not affect parking rate, which will remain the same. The first 10 minutes are free providing a parking session is initiated vis the Park Mobile app or at a street-side parking kiosk.

For detailed information on parking hours, rates and locations visit SarasotaFL.gov/Parking.
