Members of Girls Inc. laced up their shoes and tightened their ball caps for a morning of baseball exercises with the Baltimore Orioles.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16 members of the Baltimore Orioles minor league team helped girls practice batting off of tees, fielding fly ground balls and pitching at Ed Smith Stadium.  This was the second time the Orioles teamed up with Girls Inc. of Sarasota County for the baseball clinic.

For member Isabella Morton, it was a chance to run bases on a baseball field that was most exciting.

"I like it because I can run around and feel the air around me," said Isabella Morrison.

She also made sure to take advantage of having the players around to get autographs on her Baltimore Orioles ball cap and T-shirt. The list of players scheduled for the event included Will Dennis, Gray Fenter, Kory Groves, Branden Kline, Chris Lee, Lazaro Leyva, Zeke McGranahan and Matt Trowbridge.

"It's neat to see how they train," said Michelle Monasterios-Ramirez.
