AUG. 31

SITTIN’ ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY
7:03 p.m. — 800 block of Broadway
Beverage Violation: Police witnessed a man drinking a Bud Light on the town dock and informed him a town ordinance prohibits him from drinking alcohol on town property. He was issued a written warning and agreed to drink alcohol somewhere else.

FLASHING LIGHTS
11:12 p.m. — 4100 block of GMD
Suspicious Circumstance: A woman told police she saw lights on in a condominium that should be vacant this time of year. When she checked it again the lights were off. Police checked the condo and found nothing out of place.

SEPT. 1

BIG BILL
12:04 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD
Fraud: A woman received a $43,137 bill from the Internal Revenue Service. She reported what she believes to be an identity theft issue to the IRS and was told to monitor her credit cards.

SEPT. 4

DIVING DRAMA
12:02 p.m. — 10 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive
Rescue: A diver reported that he couldn’t locate his fellow diver friend and was worried he encountered diving difficulties. Other units were called in to perform an extensive search but police found him near New Pass Bridge. The divers were informed they shouldn’t leave each other behind and need to place a dive flag in their vicinity.

SEPT. 5

COURTESY RIDE
8:05 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway
Public Service: A woman called police to report the trolley didn’t arrive on schedule and she needed the telephone number to a taxi service. She was given a ride to her condo.

SEPT. 6

STRANDED ON THE ISLAND
12:45 p.m. — 7100 block of La Lenaire Drive
Trespassing: A Jewfish Key resident reported a woman passed out on the private island. When police woke her and calmed her down, she reported she had two beers and her friends propped her up on the island and must have taken off. She was given a ride to shore.

FIRE STARTER
9:16 p.m. — 3100 block of GMD
Fire: Firefighter paramedics told police a brush fire started in a beach access trash can, which destroyed the can, nearby bike rack and some bushes. A hot charcoal grill thrown into the trash can started the fire.
