The Longboat Key Town Commission will review a Bayfront Park improvement final concept at its 7 p.m. regular meeting tonight at Town Hall that includes a dog park, kayak launch, pickleball, bocce ball area and walking areas around gardens and mangroves.

A color rendering of the concept park will be released at the meeting. The concept also includes locations for future buildings if the town considers replacing the existing recreation center building.

Commissioners will also review a long list and a timeline of infrastructure projects being performed on the island over the next 24 months. Those projects include an estimated $20 million 12,000-foot water forcemain pipeline that funnels all of the Key’s wastewater under Sarasota Bay to a treatment facility in Manatee County.

The commission will also consider appointments to its Code Enforcement Board and consider a $100,000 budget transfer from its commission contingency fund to pay for a utilities undergrounding study.
