Robert Maddox, 88, of Nashville, Tenn., and Longboat Key, died June 8.
Dr. Maddox was born in Ohio and raised in Kentucky and Tennessee. When he was 18, he joined the Army Air Corps and served in the Philippines during World War II. He graduated from Jackson High School, Vanderbilt University and University of Tennessee College of Medicine.
Dr. Maddox served as a radiologist at the hospital in Kingsport, Tenn., for 31 years. He spent his retirement years on Longboat Key and in Nashville.
Dr. Maddox was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Marjorie; their dog, Cedric; and his stepson, Carl.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna; daughters, Carol, of Cleveland, and Susan, of Lexington, Ky.; son, David, of Franklin, Tenn.; sister, Carla, of Atlanta; and six grandchildren.
