+ Christ Church of Longboat Key reaches Turning Point
Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian has a new mission: the Bradenton organization Turning Points, which aims to help men, women and children who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. It provides individuals in need with a daily meal, housing and utility assistance, life-skills training, employment services and more.

Turning Points is hosting a 1-mile walk April 5, at South Coquina Beach and is in need of walkers and sponsors. It’s $10 to sponsor a child for the race, one who otherwise could not afford to participate. There will be free food, Zumba, music and other family activities.

“We’re very excited about this organization and hope other churches and the community of Longboat will be as well,” said Sue Wertman, of Christ Church.
