This weekend, Longboat Key is a bargain-hunter’s dream.

The St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Ladies’ Guild Royal Rummage Sale begins Friday, March 4, at the Stella Maris Hall, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive, with its early-bird option for shoppers. For a $5 admission, shoppers can gain admission a day early from 1 to 6 p.m. The official sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 5.

“We have the biggest collection we have ever had,” says Chairwoman Mary Elizabeth Carey. “Clothes, electronics, art and collectibles, baked goods and an amazing quantity of quality furniture.”

Men’s Club members will serve donuts, coffee, hot dogs and sausages on Saturday.

At All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church, 563 Bay Isles Road, the Opportunity Sale begins with a pre-sale from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, March 4. Items will be priced at double the prices for the early shoppers. The sale takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5. Items for sale include a wide selection of books, household items and collectibles. A large bake sale will be held on the church grounds.

And at the north end of the Key will be the Whitney Beach Antique and Arts Sale held the first weekend of each month during season, at Whitney Beach Plaza, at 6828 Golf of Mexico Drive. Handmade jewelry and antiques of all kind can be found here. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
