Lady Mustangs win district title

The Lakewood Ranch High girls soccer team captured the Class 4A-District 10 title with a 5-0 victory over second-seeded Seminole Osceola Jan. 22.

Midfielder Aubrey Riggins scored four goals, including three in the second half, and an assist to lead the way for Lakewood (17-1-2). Forward Sarah Miller scored a goal and assist while Kaitlyn Wolfe and Morgan Salmon each added an assist. Goalkeeper Alexandra Latham notched three saves on the afternoon, as Lakewood tallied its 13th shutout in a row.

The Lady Mustangs will return to action at 7 p.m., Jan. 27 versus Strawberry Crest in a Class 4A-Region 3 quarterfinal match.
