Store Around the Corner: Sunglass Express Optical

Sunglass Express Optical is more than just a sunglass store- it’s a full service optical shop with an optical lab right on the premises.

The employees are all licensed opticians with years of experience, who can help customers choose from hundreds of different styles of glasses and sunglasses.

“I have the best staff anyone could ask for,” says owner Yvonne Schloss. “They’re knowledgeable, hardworking and they truly care about our customers.”

Schloss opened the St. Armands location in 1992 and had such a great responses from customers that she opened a second location in Lakewood Ranch in 2005.

Sunglass Express Optical carries a wide range of glasses and sunglasses from brands such as Chanel, Oakley, Costa Del Mar and Prada, just to name a few.

“We have all prices points,” says Schloss. “Everything from Ray Ban to Cartier.”

The store also sells Baggallini and Micci handbags, which feature interchangeable fabrics and chains to make your handbag compatible with any outfit.

Schloss says the combination of the store’s location, selection and experienced staff has earned them a loyal following over the past 18 years.

“Once discovered, always treasured is the way I describe the store,” says Schloss. “Once customers see what we do, they always come back.”
