My View: Why I'm voting in this election

With all of the focus on making sure that people who want to vote can vote, it's disheartening to learn that someone who can vote would not want to vote.

Our View: Amendments 1, 3, 5, 8, 12

When we began this process of analyzing the 11 proposed state constitution amendments two weeks ago, we noted a preference that is probably true with most voters: Leave the constitution alone! Quit junking it up with special exceptions and favors to special groups.

Our View: The property amendments

Frederic Bastiat, the great French economic journalist of the 1840s, would be launching into tirades on talk radio today if he were asked to analyze the proposed constitutional amendments on Florida's Nov. 6 ballot.

Our View: Yes, get rid of 2050

It appears none of the five county commissioners has the moral conviction and courage to declare the county's 2050 plan - the county laws governing development - an abject economic failure, destructive to the economic welfare of the county's citizens and that it should be rescinded and burned at the stake.
