Animal-lovers enjoyed interacting with dogs and other animals July 26, as part of the Humane Society of Sarasota County's Fur Fun Camp. Enrolled campers made frozen dog treats to feed the dogs, ate ice cream, played games and had their faces painted.

Scents of tomatoes and pasta float through the air as Chef Camp campers at Mattison's Forty One prepare to serve a delicious lunch to their guests. Chef Camp offers four sessions through the summer where children are taught by real chefs to saute, grill, make pasta, sauce and deserts. The Taste of Tuscany session ran from July 15 to July 19 with 15 campers participating. Campers learned what professional chefs do to prepare for the day. They were taught by Mattison's Forty One Chefs Jeff Sladky, Ken Smith, Ray LaJoie, and Aaron Mortensen about proper table setting, event logistics, kitchen safety and of course cooking the meals.

The girls caught the critters in a net, observed them and learned about them. Intern Kelly Munch taught the girls about the bay and fishes that live in the ocean. After the girls visited the aquarium.
