9/11 Looking Back: George Ceshker

Longboat Key resident George Ceshker was in the cockpit of an American Airlines Boeing 767 on Sept. 11. The plane took off from Manhattan, N.Y., seven minutes after the first plane hit the World Trade Center. Ceshker retired four years after Sept. 11 and later opened a Secur-All Insurance branch. But the events of that tragic day stay with him.

LLSA Chamber hosts after-hours event

The Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce held its "Business After Hours" event Wednesday, Aug. 24, in conjunction with J Wood Realty's "Meet the Neighbors" event, which included Envy and Bridge Street Bistro. Those who attended the combined events enjoyed a variety of cocktails, from martinis to margaritas, as well as finger foods and desserts.
