Local children competed in the first annual Celery Fields Bird-A-Thon Saturday Nov. 9. Ninety-seven students from 14 local schools, ranging from 4 to 18 years of age, competed. The Spoonbills, a team from Venice High School made up of zoology club students, won by identifies 43 bird species in an hour.
