Student Bruno Cruz said walking into Robarts Arena as a graduate of Riverview High School on May 16 was an experience he couldn't fully process.Â
However, he expects that once the realization kicks in, it will be a bittersweet feeling. He enjoyed his time at the school, but also looks forward to his time ahead.Â
"I liked the students, the teachers were very nice and the IB program was great," he said.Â
He is set to attend Florida State University, where he will major in psychology, with plans to either to become a psychologist or use his knowledge of psychology to be a writer.Â
During the ceremony, students of the senior class board took to the podium to speak about their time in school, with secretary Chloe Catalfino highlighting the support of staff at the school.Â
"Long before we believed in ourselves, they believed in us," she said.Â
For Cruz, there were still more impacts to be felt even as the ceremony came to an end.Â
"It feels surreal, like when I walked out and saw everyone looking in the crowd, it's like a sensation I've never felt before entered my body, and it hasn't fully kicked in yet, but once it does, it will really impact me," he said.Â
