Albert Miano Jr. is the newest uniformed officer with the Longboat Key Police Department.

The U.S. Navy and Army National Guard veteran has two decades plus in law enforcement experience, according to Longboat Key spokesperson Tina Adams.

“His dedication to service is reflected in his impressive law enforcement career, spanning over 20 years, where he started out as a trooper and took on roles such as governor protector and station manager,” Adams wrote in an email.

Miano most recently served as an officer with the Greenwich Police Department. Other experience includes as a trooper with New York State Police, and officer with the New York Police Department and Pound Ridge Police Department.

He also served with the Westchester County Police where his father, James Luciano, was chief of police, according to a town of Greenwich, Connecticut, press release. On April 15, his significant other, Heather Conley, pinned his badge on his uniform after being sworn in by Longboat Key Police Department Chief Russ Mager.

“It’s always a proud moment as chief to celebrate a new hire, provide the oath of office and make them a part of our family,” Mager wrote in an email.

Miano is from the Northeast, earning degrees from Western Connecticut State University and Naugatuck Valley Community College. He also earned a degree from SUNY Cortland in 2022.
