The Longboat Key Garden Club gave residents and visitors a unique look into the island on March 4.
Home tour goers were welcome to explore the houses in any order they wanted. From coastal themes to relaxing pool decks, each home offered different look into how people live on Longboat
The 41st Annual Home and Garden Tour featured four homes. The first was Howard Rooks’ home in Lido Shores. The 5,000 square-foot house overlooks the Sarasota Bay and Bayou Sound and offers a look at the Sarasota Skyline.
The Flaherty home in Queens Harbor was the second home. The home’s interior is decorated with the coastal colors of blue and green and is located on the fourth fairway of the Harbourside golf course of the Longboat Key Club.
The third home, Kim Howard and Kim McQuilken’s home, is located in Emerald Harbor. The interior of the house exudes a sand and sea theme and the large outdoor lanai offers an area for relaxation. Kim Howard has bordered the property with various fruit and vegetable plants as well.
The Gurchieck home on Gulf of Mexico Drive was the fourth home on the tour. Michael and Barbara Gurchieck have decorated their home with simple, yet colorful accents, including a floral painting over the stove. There large balcony overlooks their spacious pool deck.
