The little tykes at The Gan at Temple Sinai were on a roll Wednesday morning for the Trike-a-thon fundraiser.

Trike-a-thon serves as a physical exercise as well as to teach students bicycle safety. The event helps collect funds for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital with donations from parents. In five years the event has helped donate $10,000 for the cause.

Before strapping on helmets and riding, The Gan Director Laura Freedman sat down with students to go over her four rules for bicycle safety. She also explains that by participating in the fundraiser they are doing a mitzvah or a good deed.

Bicycle Safety Rules

1. Always wear a helmet

2. Look where you are going

3. Never ride your bicycle in the road.

4. Be careful riding past driveways.

Tricycles, scooters and little tyke coupes were the vehicles students used. The circular track took students through the Temple Sinai lobby and around the courtyard.
