“Everyone is in a joyful mood and embracing this atmosphere. The town turning 60 is a big deal, and we’re all very happy with the turnout. It’s been wonderful.” — Cori Lane, Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce executive assistant

Longboat Key celebrated its 60th anniversary Nov. 14, at Bayfront Park.

More than 500 current and former residents and workers attended the bash, which included a concert by the Sarasota Jazz Project, picnic-style seating and food trucks.
