3:27 p.m. — 2700 block of 63rd Avenue East
Grand Theft: A man refused to pay his cab fare of $66. He threw $15 at the driver and said, “That’s all you’re getting” before he ran behind a gate at his workplace. Police found the man there and arrested him.

June 1

Country Oaks  Boulevard
10:27 a.m. — 4800 block of Country Oaks Boulevard
Manufacturing Drugs With Intent to Sell: Police received an anonymous tip that there was marijuana growing on a man’s roof. Police removed seven plants and placed them into property and evidence.

June 3

Market Street
12:30 a.m. — 8300 block of Market Street
Uttering a Forged Instrument: A man and woman signed and attempted to cash fake payroll checks at a grocery store. The woman admitted she arrived at the store with an acquaintance and that he printed the $492.17 fraudulent check using a computer and printer in the trunk of their car and made the check payable to her. The manager told police the man passed a fraudulent check to another store earlier that evening. Police arrested the man and woman.

Kay Road North East
3:46 p.m. — 800 block of Kay Road North East
Burglary to Conveyance: A man reported his firearm was stolen from his Jeep. He put his sunglasses in the glove compartment next to the weapon a week ago and noticed it was missing while retrieving his sunglasses.

Interstate 75 
8:23 a.m. — 1900 block of Interstate 75
Information: A man reported that the driver of a white semi-truck tried to run him off the road after a verbal exchange and series of gestures by both parties.

Alpine Lane
6:22 p.m. — 6500 block of Alpine Lane
Information: A woman learned from her children’s babysitter that their grandmother drove by slowly and took pictures of them without stopping to talk to them. The woman said the only reason the grandmother would stop by is to get involved in an ongoing custody dispute. The grandmother said she drove by the residence because she wanted to make sure the children were OK after they missed their court-ordered phone call.

State Road 70 East
8:43 a.m. — 6300 block of State Road 70 East
Information: A former student at a technical institute began sending emails to staff after he was dropped from his program because of his behavior. The emails are confusing but not threatening and include rants about students and faculty members, along with profanity and insults. Police contacted the man’s mother, who apologized and said she will make sure he does not send additional emails.

June 5

Honeyflower Loop
2:41 p.m. — 600 block of Honeyflower Loop
Attempted Phone Scam: A woman received a call from a man with an accent who offered her a $9,000 grant from the U.S. government. The man knew what bank she uses and said he needed $250 to continue with the grant program. The woman told him he was a scammer and called police.
