Ranch Lake Boulevard

July 30
8:40 p.m. — 5800 block of Ranch Lake Boulevard
Information: A woman huffed a can of keyboard cleaner and began acting strangely. EMS transported her to a hospital to ensure she did not suffer adverse health effects from the cleaner, but she was not admitted because she was OK. The woman said she did not want to hurt herself and did not meet criteria for a Baker Act.

51st Street East

Aug. 3
2:20 p.m. — 2600 block of 51st Street East
Domestic Disturbance: A man told police that his mother, who is in England, said that his brother is not allowed to drive her car. He said that his brother took the keys from him and began to drive away while he was retrieving something from the car. The man began yelling for help, saying he had been carjacked by a driver who had a gun, prompting passersby to call 911. Police determined that he was not carjacked and that his brother did not have a gun. They also noted that his injuries were probably caused by him intentionally holding onto the moving vehicle to stop his brother from taking it.

Upper Manatee River Road

Aug. 4
1:43 a.m. — 1400 block of Upper Manatee River Road
Battery: A woman was following her friend home and pulled into a parking lot, where she was confronted verbally by an unknown woman, The woman punched her through her car window, which was rolled down, and approached her aggressively again when she got out of her car in an attempt to obtain the woman’s vehicle tag number. The victim was not injured but said she wants to press charges because she is embarrassed that she let a “40-something lady” hit her.

Manor Loop

Aug. 5
2:12 a.m. — 8800 block of Manor Loop
Information: A man was transported to a hospital for a possible overdose after drinking and possibly taking drugs with friends. After the man passed out in an apartment, two of his friends left the unit suddenly, leaving another man alone to perform CPR. EMS revived the him. The man said he had been drinking but denied using drugs. Police observed signs of suspicious substances at the apartment and turned them in to property and evidence.

Rosedown Glen

Aug. 5
3:46 p.m. — 16800 block of Rosedown Glen
Domestic Disturbance: A woman argued with her ex-boyfriend after he arrived to pick up their child. During the argument, the ex-boyfriend threw a backpack against the wall, and it bounced off the wall and landed behind a recliner. There were no damages or injuries.

Greenbrook Boulevard and Skip Jack Loop

Aug. 5
11 p.m. — Greenbrook Boulevard and Skip Jack Loop
Domestic Disturbance: An unknown person called 911 after hearing a verbal argument between a man and woman and potential gunshots. The man said that the woman is his ex-girlfriend, and she asked him for a ride that night because her car was repossessed due to her drug habit. He said he picked her up at a drug house and tried to talk to her about her problems, which angered her. The woman wouldn’t tell police what the argument was about but said the man had been “blowing up my phone and Facebook.” Police gave her information about filing a restraining order.

Bluebell Court

Aug. 6
11:20 p.m. — 7100 block of Bluebell Court
Domestic Disturbance: A woman allowed her father to move into her home with the expectation that he would find a job and pay rent. They got into a verbal argument because he has done neither.

Meandering Way

Aug. 7
11:32 p.m. — 6500 block of Meandering Way
Burglary to Unoccupied Dwelling: An unknown person(s) entered a home, possibly through an unlocked sliding glass door, and stole a pair of sunglasses and two piggy banks.
