Key Club receives 32nd AAA Four Diamond Award

The Resort at Longboat Key received its 32nd AAA Four Diamond Award April 7.

“To receive this, the hotel provides excellent service, hospitality, cleanliness and goes above and beyond in customer service,” AAA Field Manager Don Schwartz, who presented the award, said. “It’s an exclusive club.”

Only 5.4% of the nearly 30,000 approved AAA hotels receive this distinction, and even fewer have the longstanding recognition of the Key Club.

“This says a lot about the hard work that you do to make a difference,” General Manager Jeff Mayers  said. “It’s all about taking care of the guests, and, for that, we’ve been recognized.”

Bayfront home sells for $3.2 million

A bayfront Longboat Key estate sold for $3.2 million April 3.

Richard Perlman, of Michael Saunders & Co., listed the bayfront estate at 5030 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Kary Andrews, of Bayshore Real Estate, sold the home.

Known as “Bayside Villa,” the property includes an iron gate, circular drive, lush gardens, a grand foyer, French doors and an expansive outdoor area with a patio, pool, kitchen, private boat dock and deeded beach access.

The main residence includes a master bedroom and two en suite guest rooms, and the guesthouse includes two additional bedrooms. The residences have garages that can hold up to 14 automobiles.

Pettingell lists and sells $4.55 million Bird Key home

A Bird Key home sold recently for $4.55 million.

Roger Pettingell, of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate’s Longboat Key office, listed and sold the home.

Located at 602 S. Owl Drive, the 5,581-square-foot home was custom-built by Murray Homes in 2012 with four en suite bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.

Property records list the seller as Kerlyn Holdings Ltd. The name of the buyer was not immediately available.
