Obituary: John Arnold Cole

John Arnold Cole died June 23.

Born Nov. 5, 1916, Mr. Cole was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a navigator. He was shot down over Germany on his 10th mission and was a POW for 18 months.

Upon returning to school, Mr. Cole earned advanced degrees, then worked in research and development as an electrical engineer and a professional engineer in consulting.

Mr. Cole was an active member of All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church; he served in the choir, vestry and church financial recording.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Helen Micchelli and Barbara Sparks; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church, 563 Bay Isles Road.
