Longboat Key can expect intermittent heavy downpours today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Isaac, which made its way back into the Gulf of Mexico and brought the Key tropical moisture all weekend.

According to weather.com, “a period of showers and thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.” is expected, with an 80% chance of rain expected today. Today’s high is 87 degrees, with cloud cover keeping the temperature below the usual 90-degree or higher mark that’s typical for this time of year.

Rain chances decrease to 40% on Tuesday, with typical summer patterns resuming for the rest of the week.
