Commission asks for community center cost info

The Longboat Key Town Commission asked for a breakdown of costs for moving forward with the development of Bayfront Park and a community center separately at its March 15 workshop.

Commissioner Phill Younger, who was back on the dais for the first time since he was hospitalized in February, suggested moving forward in two phases to allow more time to poll citizens about whether they want a community center.

The town will work with the St. Petersburg-based Wannemacher Jensen Architects Inc. to research costs.
