Fruitville Road paving to finish by end of week

Sarasota crews continue this week with the final stage of paving Fruitville Road between U.S. 301 and U.S. 41.

Traffic will be allowed through the area, but expect delays. The final friction course paving is being done at night during off-peak traffic hours from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.  Without delays, paving is expected to be completed 7 a.m. Friday, April 27.

Palm trees have been placed the past week, in an effort to create a more attractive corridor for motorists and pedestrians. The project began in November
