OBITUARY: David Cohen

David Cohen, 81, of Longboat Key, died June 18.

Born in Boston, he graduated from Swampscott High School and Brown University in the class of 1951 and attended the Pratt Institute in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Cohen was a longtime resident of Marblehead, Mass. He worked in the leather industry with the former Fermon Leather Co., in Peabody, Mass., and later became president and owner of North Shore Medical Transcriptions Inc., in Peabody.

Mr. Cohen was a member of Temple Beth Israel, a former board member of Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead and a former member of the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead.

Mr. Cohen was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cutler-Cohen. He is survived by his children, Michael Cohen, of Lexington, Mass.; Nancy Cohen, of Waltham, Mass.; Jill Beck, of Marblehead; and Jeffrey Feldman, of Rexford, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service took place Wednesday, June 22, at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel in Salem, Mass. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701.
