After working as a hair stylist for 10 years on St. Armands Circle, Loan Hertzog has opened up her own shop — The Salon at St. Armands — two months ago.

“I liked having the chance to move on, and once the opportunity came and this space opened up, I went for it,” said Hertzog, who has been in Sarasota for 20 years after moving from Vietnam.

After taking over the space that housed a former real estate office, Hertzog completed a full renovation — knocking down walls, installing new floors and lighting and more. The picture window looking out onto the Circle is now a main focal point.

“Now the space has a more open feel,” Hertzog said. “It is more relaxed and calming.”

The Salon at St. Armands features many services such as hair styling and color, hair extensions, Brazilian blowout, nail services, facials, waxing and threading. The salon’s featured products include L’Oreal, Pureology, Zoya, Redken and Moroccan Oil.

“Our staff is professional but in a family way. We like to pamper our clients and give them the best service,” she said. “I would like all of my previous clients and local residents to know we’re here and to give us a try.”
