The Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key St. Jude Gourmet Luncheon has a lot on its plate this year: Twenty-four local restaurants are preparing to serve up their signature dishes.

The luncheon takes place from noon to 2 p.m., tomorrow, in the parking area of Temple Beth Israel, 567 Bay Isles Road. Luncheon tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

This year’s event features more prizes than ever, including a new Chinese auction, along with the annual Kiwanis Club Car Raffle, which features a grand prize of a new 2010 Ford Fusion or $20,000 cash. Consolation prizes include a three-day, two-night gulf-suite stay at the Longboat Key Club and Resort; a “Harry Potter” weekend for two at Universal Orlando with Universal Express passes for attractions and a one-night stay at Universal’s Royal Pacific Hotel; and brunch for two at the Ritz-Carlton.

The luncheon raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and the raffle is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club’s scholarship program.

Raffle tickets are $100. Buy luncheon and raffle tickets at YourObserver.com by searching “St. Jude luncheon.”
