Sarasota fugitive captured after 24 years on the run

Sarasota authorities have captured a fugitive who in 1988, was convicted in Sarasota County of Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a Child for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls soccer teams both notched victories over Sarasota Military Academy Jan. 8 on Senior Night. The Lady Thunder opened the night with a 4-1 victory over the Lady Eagles. Carly Hunter, Alli Gentile, Alyssa Mason and Juliet Onufrak each scored a goal for ODA. Hunter, Onufrak and Katie Lang were each credited with an assist. Lauren Gable scored the lone goal for SMA. Lady Eagles goalkeeper Ellie Waskom had 15 saves. The ODA boys soccer team followed up with a 2-1 victory of its own. Senior Hunter Clarke scored both goals for the Thunder. Goalkeeper Bryan Kirshe had seven saves. Logan Moriarty scored the lone goal for SMA. Eagles goalkeeper Garrett Ashley had six saves.
