Seaplace party full of holiday cheer

The residents of Seaplace held a 'welcome back' party at their clubhouse on Wednesday, Dec. 15. The residents caught up with friends who were back in town for the winter months and also enjoyed food and beverages along with some holiday music to get everyone in the holiday mood.

A musical program featuring pianist Lee Dougherty Ross and soprano Michelle Giglio was the highlight of the annual holiday party of the Women's Guild and the Men's Club of St. Mary Star, of the Sea, Catholic Church. Holiday music was included in the program, held Dec. 14, at the Stella Maris Hall.

Christ Church fulfills dreams of local kids

For the third year, members of Christ Church Presbyterian held a Christmas party for students of 13th Ave. Dream Center in Bradenton. As usual, Santa arrived with gift bags for the youngsters and they all enjoyed Christmas cookies. A special gift to the school was a selection of books for a lending library. The students, first, second and third graders sang their version of Jungle Bells and three students gave readings. Organizer of the party was Beverly Sutton assisted by several church members.

Party provides cozy sanctuary for Key residents

Sanctuary residents gathered Dec. 13, at the clubhouse, for a festive holiday party. Organized by Marianna Odlen, the buffet included bowls of shrimp, salads and platters of ham. A popular dessert choice was the miniature cream puffs. The evening's cool weather was a topic of conversation; many guests gave thanks they were on the Key and not at northern residences.
