Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County went on a field trip Thursday, July 18, to Mote Marine Laboratory. Girls in grades six to eight learned about the small critters that live in Sarasota Bay. The girls caught the critters in a net, observed them and learned about them. Intern Kelly Munch taught the girls about the bay and fishes that live in the ocean. After the girls visited the aquarium.

A home in Hudson Bayou tops all transactions in this week's real estate. Richard and Kathryn Rosenberg sold their home at 3421 Edmondson Court to Robert Miller and Sandra Faircloth, of Villanova, Pa., for $1,610,000. Built in 1990, it has four bedrooms, four baths, a pool and 3,639 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $1,225,000 in 2001.
