The parking lots and lawn areas in front of Tara Golf and Country Club were filled to maximum capacity March 7, as the community's residents gathered to watch models strut down the runway. The all-women crowd sipped on red wine, as they sat at tables with multi-colored flowers as centerpieces.

The Sarasota Chamber of Commerce held its 6th annual Clays Tournament Friday, March 7. Nearly 75 chamber members competed in teams of four or five on twelve different open ranges. Members enjoyed friendly competition at the all-day event, which was held at the Sarasota Trap, Skeet and Clays in Nokomis.

PHOTO GALLERY: McNeal Elementary Walk-a-thon

After raising $18,000 for their Wacky Wildcat Walk-a-thon March 7, McNeal Elementary students enjoyed time outside after their hard work. About 90% of the children raised at least $1 to go toward new laptops and Tablets for the school. Students in each grade level walked, jogged and sprinted as they competed to win gold, silver and bronze medals for the fastest times, per grade.

Tannen and her class dressed as the Cat in the Hat and sang Dr. Seuss songs while enjoying breakfast. Students at Bay Haven have been learning about Dr. Seuss this past week in honor of his birthday on March 2.
