Sarasota man arrested on 50 counts of child pornography

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested 51-year-old John Dickie after tracing his IP address to his home computer on which he was allegedly downloading the pornographic images.

Commission approves tourist tax allocation

After lengthy discussion over how much to reallocate, the Sarasota County Commission voted unanimously to reallocate 7.5% of the third penny within the 5-cent levy for the tourist development tax to capital projects and events.
