Investigators make arrest in Mill Creek burglaries

A 14-year-old East County boy confessed to the June 10 vehicle burglaries in Mill Creek. His mother found several expensive electronic items in his bedroom.

Auto burglars target communities out east

Nearly 30 vehicles in four East County and North Manatee neighborhoods have been burglarized since June. The most recent rash of break-ins occurred in Mill Creek July 24-26.

Girls Scouts complete Silver Award project

Troop 722 Girl Scouts Natalie Reid and Paige Parker, both 14, constructed a Smokey the Bear display at Camp Honi Hanta as their Silver Award project. The girls presented the project to a group of Just for Girls campers July 23.
