MPO accepting public input for transportation improvement program

Public input is now open for the annual update of the Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Five-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The new draft of the plan through fiscal year 2031 is now available for public review and comment through May 18.

The process to develop the new TIP began on March 31, 2025, when the MPO Board adopted its 2025 list of project priorities. That list was forwarded to FDOT to prepare its draft five-year work program, which includes roadway improvements; transportation alternatives; and bridge, safety, and public transportation projects.

The draft TIP will be presented at committee meetings scheduled for May 11 and to the MPO Board for adoption on May 18. The TIP must be submitted to the Florida Department of Transportation by July 15.
