Manatee school district to address threat at Parrish Community

Parrish Community High students were evacuated Tuesday in response to a bomb threat.

Parrish Community High School students were evacuated to the Manatee County Fairgrounds Tuesday after a "significant" bomb threat was reported.

County Administrator Scott Hopes said public safety officials set up a reunification center at the fairgrounds in Palmetto. 

The School District of Manatee County announced a press conference at 3:30 p.m. at Parrish Community High School to address the situation at the high school. 

Cynthia Saunders, the superintendent of the School District of Manatee County, and Sheriff Rick Wells, along with district safety and security officials and school administrators, are expected to be present.
