You might have seen violinist Sean Lee when he was little. But now he's all grown up. Lee, a former Perlman Music Program "Little" and current Juilliard and PMP faculty member, will team with Peter Dugan for a rare performance of the Complete 24 Caprices of Niccolo Paganini as arranged by Robert Schumann. Lee and Dugan released an album together, "Songbook," featuring genres ranging from classical to jazz. Lee earned top prizewinner at the "Premio Paganini" International Violin Competition.
Get ready to laugh. Conductor Christopher Confessore of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra will bring his signature blend of skill and humor to a bill that includes music composed by Stephen Sondheim, Leroy Anderson and John Williams. The show draws its title from Sondheim's "Comedy Tonight," which featured in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." The Friday and Sunday shows will not have an intermission, but the Thursday and Saturday shows will. Runs through Sunday.

Arts Advocates is staging three public art tours of Sarasota, and the first will be through the downtown Five Points Park area. The 90-minute tour will educate the group about local art and artists, and each one will focus on a different area of the city. Docents Judy Levine, Stephenie Frasher and Nanette Crist will lead the tours, and the next ones will occur in February (City Hall area) and March (Rosemary District).

Seafood, music and fun are on the menu at JD Hamel Park. The Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival will feature an eclectic mix of bands including Kettle of Fish. Meat and vegetarian options will also be on the menu in addition to seafood, and there will be drinks available. The festival starts at 11 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday and will close out at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Join Hermitage Fellow and Tony Award-winning actor Gavin Creel on an audio tour that examines the link between museums and humanity. Creel, who won a Tony award in 2017 for his work in the Broadway revival of "Hello Dolly," is working on a multimedia project spurred by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and he will perform selections of the work in progress for the Hermitage audience.

This show has girth. Hear the songs of the great Fat Waller and watch as a versatile cast dances, sings and strums their way through the catalogue of an American original. Come greet the proprietors of Sarasota's newest art gallery. Midge Johnson, an abstract expressionist painter, and her husband, Alan Wasserman, are opening their new space to the public. Wasserman, a classical pianist, plans to use the space to play and deliver presentations on the history of music, and Johnson will be painting live on some occasions and using the gallery to display her works.

What happens when a play debuts and nothing goes right? "The Play Goes Wrong" follows the cast of a 1920s whodunit as they try to overcome a slew of foibles along the way to their first curtain call. The play, written in 2012, premiered in London and later moved to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre. Bruce Jordan, who also helmed FST's productions of "Shear Madness" and "Spamalot," will direct.
