Designing Women Boutique reboots salon series for the fall

Author/poet/storyteller Lucia Blinn didn't always start as a writer.

She was in the advertisement industry for many years in New York and Chicago, but now the new Sarasota Bay Club resident writes poetry about the world around her — for both herself and her late husband, Marty.

One poem she shared at her DWB Salon Series lecture on Sept. 28 at Designing Women Boutique was comically relatable, judging by all the laughs she got from her audience.

"An iced latte would have sufficed for a welcome," she said of her arrival at Sarasota Bay Club the weekend Hurricane Irma hit the gulf coast. 

The next Salon Series lecture will be hosted by Kenneth Hension, MD Internal Medicine and Cardiology, at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 26 at Designing Women Boutique.
