Longtime staff leaves Community Haven

Marla Doss, longtime president and CEO of Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities, is no longer with the organization.

Eric Hoonhout, vice president of the board of directors, declined to give any specifics but confirmed the information.

“She’s not with the agency right now,” he said.

Doss celebrated her 30th anniversary with the company last year. She began with the nonprofit in 1985 as director of residential services. She became development director in 2003 and was appointed to president and CEO in July 2012.

Community Haven, located off DeSoto Road in Sarasota, provides services disabled children and adults through education, services, jobs and other offerings.
