Wednesday, Aug. 17
Greater Sarasota Chamber Bowling Tournament
Runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Sarasota Lanes, 2250 Fruitville Road. This exciting night includes networking, two games of bowling,food, contests and prizes. The tournament is set for teams of five or individuals who will be place with four others. Registration is $175 for teams of five or $40 for individuals. Both include two games, shoes, drink ticket and food. Tickets are $10 for attendees not participating. Visit sarasotachamber.com.

Saturday, Aug. 13 
Sarasota Bay Watch Scallop Search
Takes place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sarasota Sailing Squadron, 1717 Ken Thompson, Parkway, Sarasota. Volunteer citizen scientists will help the Sarasota Bay Watch search for scallops. Call 232- 2363.

Superhero Skate Bash 
Runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Stardust Skate Center, 2571 12 St. Dress in your favorite superhero costume and get free admission. There will be games, contests, races, prizes and school supply giveaways. Regular admission is $8 plus skate rental. Visit stardustskatecenter.net.

Shark Days at Mote

AJC 2016 Summer Lunch & Learn Series
Runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Michael’s On East, 1212 East Ave. AJC Director of International Jewish Affairs, Andy Baker will discuss the future of European Jews, the resurgence of anti-semitism, security threats and challenges for Jewish life in Europe. Tuskegee Airman speaks
Starts at 10:30 a.m. at Campus Center at Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road. Tuskegee Airman and member of the 332nd Fighter Group of the U.S. Army Air Forces, George Hardy, will give a presentation. Tickets are $10 and include lunch. Visit churchofthepalms.org.

Sarasota YMCA Splash Bash
Runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at Evalyn Sadlier Jones Branch, 8301 Potter Park Drive. August 19, 2016: Get wet and have some fun. It's the Sarasota YMCA Splash Bash. Water Park access is free and open to the public. Admission is free.

Saturday, Aug. 20 
Your Primer for the Primary 
Runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Selby Auditorium at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, 8350 N. Tamiami Trail. Musica Sacra Cantorum
Starts at 7:30 p.m. at Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave. The Musica Sacra Cantorum will perform two timeless masterworks, Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and Durante’s “Magnificat” with harpsichord and cello, under the direction of Dr. Robert Parrish. Tickets are $15 per person. Visit MSCChorus.org.

Siesta Key Triathlon
Starts at 7:30 a.m. at Siesta Key Beach, 948 Beach Road. Start training now for the 32nd annual Siesta Key Triathlon. The event benefits the Sarasota YMCA Sharks swim team.
