Nina Taylor Pet Salon, a popular Sarasota grooming salon, is opening its second location in Longboat Key in the former Alicia’s Grooming location, 4134 Gulf of Mexico Drive.

“I do a lot of clientele from Longboat, and because of this, we were keeping an eye out for new spaces on Longboat,” Nina Taylor said. “This space popped up, and I just jumped on the opportunity.”

Taylor plans to open the location on Sept. 1 or earlier. She is both the owner and a groomer.

“A lot of people open a groomer and don’t groom themselves,” Taylor said. “I do both, which I think helps with the service.”

Taylor will be the only groomer at her location on the Key but also plans to continue grooming at her Sarasota location, which she opened two years ago.

“There’s a big need for grooming, and it’s really hard to find a good groomer,” Taylor said. “I’m more than just doing a good haircut on a dog. We try to provide a good atmosphere for dogs and positive reinforcement. Most importantly, we offer personalized service, and we work one-on-one with the dogs. I don’t overcrowd, and dogs are in and out in three to four hours.”
