UTC opens interactive lounge

Lakewood Ranch is leaving its footprint on East County's newest shopping center.

An interactive lounge sponsored by Lakewood Ranch Communities opened Feb. 18 after a ribbon cutting ceremony held at The Mall at University Town Center.

The lounge is located across from H&M in the southern end of the shopping strip.

The lounge features a seating area with nine televisions and seven Tablets that highlight various homes, developers and conveniences spread throughout the Ranch.

The lounge will provide tourists and local residents with information about East County, said Lisa Barnott, marketing director for Ranch developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch. 

The displays will feature 10 residential villages, national and custom homebuilders, Lakewood Ranch Main Street, an athletic and 18 lighted tennis courts among other local attractions and houses.

"This lounge was designed with the overall shopping experience in mind and provides a comfortable, relaxing seating area that is enhanced with digital media," said Kimberly Dominguez, marketing and sponsorship director.
