Regent swings past Barefield/Ten Oaks during Officer's Cup

Regent defeated Barefield/Ten Oaks in the U.S. Polo Association Officer’s Cup presented by Ferrari of Tampa Bay March 9 at the Sarasota Polo Club.

The Barefield/Ten Oaks team scored three goals in the first chukker to take an early lead. Regent’s Shane Rice and Stuart Campbell answered with two goals apiece in the second chukker.

Holding on to an 8-5 halftime lead, Regent scored six goals in the final three chukkers to preserve the victory.

Jamie Mirikitani was named the Most Valuable Player. Rice received the Best Playing Pony Award for his horse Kumquat’s performance.

Teams return to action at 1 p.m. March 16 in the BMO Private Bank Cup, which will feature a “Go Green” tailgate contest.
